WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits

The Level 2 Award in Spirits is a professional level course designed to offer a thorough knowledge of the spirits and liqueurs of the world.  The course curriculum provides students a history of spirits and production techniques of the vast array of spirits. The focus is on Cognac, Armagnac and other brandies, Scotch, Bourbon and whiskeys, white spirits including vodka, rum, tequila and gin, liqueurs and other flavored spirits.

A one-hour examination includes 50 multiple-choice questions and a theoretical tasting note of one spirit or liqueur.

 

Learning Outcomes

  • Understand factors influencing the production of spirits and liqueurs
  • Know the principal International spirits and liqueurs and the importance of Brands
  • Provide information and advice to customers and staff about spirits and liqueurs
  • Produce analytical tasting notes of spirits using industry recognized tasting terms

Online Schedule 2011 - 2012 for Level 2 Award in Spirits

Students register through The Wine Center and sit the exam at one of our satellite locations, but take classes in a digital, global classroom. An instructor from the WSET® leads the course, which includes five weekly, interactive classes. Successful candidates receive the WSET Level 2 Award in Spirits.
